Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC)

Agenda: Limiting the possibility of nations engaging in cyber warfare and the threat of rapid developments in cyber weapons in the 21st century.

The United Nations Disarmament and International Security council, also known as DISEC, is the General Assembly First Committee. It establishes policies related to armament and disarmament, to ensure international peace and security. In this committee, we will discuss the threat of cyber warfare and its implications in the 21th century.

Sunidhi Tumuluru (Co-Chair)
Sunidhi Tumuluru has been an active MUNer since 2018 in multiple Oakridge JMUNS. She won verbal mention and outstanding delegate in her years of MUN and has attended an international IIMUN. This is her second year as a member of the EB and she can’t wait to co-chair DISEC and is eager to give a new batch of delegates a fruitful experience. Sunidhi also loves dancing, sketching, and reading anything entertaining.

Siddharth Sai Pendyala (Co-Chair)
Siddharth has been attending MUNs since the 8th grade, and has received a lot of experience over the years from attending them. He’s been with Oakridge and JMUN since the 8th grade, and this is his 4th year as a part of JMUN, along with this being his second year as a part of the EB. As the Chair of DISEC, he looks forward to many things, such as a smooth flow of committee, interesting debate, and a fun experience with the delegates. Aside from MUNs, he enjoys playing basketball, and loves exploring the world of software and business.

Aayushi Santra (Moderator)
Aayushi believes in change for good and wants to work towards the society and environment and contribute meaningfully. She recently travelled to Sunderbans & interacted with the vulnerable communities over there. .Apart from JMUN Aayushi loves listening to music, painting, dancing and travelling.
