United Nations Security Council

Agenda: Re-evaluating the Laws of Biological Warfare.

The United Nation Security Council is one of the six principal organs of the UN. While the SC’s primary goal is the maintenance of international peace and security, it’s responsibilities include accepting new members into the UN and making changes to its charter. It is the only organ of the UN which has legally binding power. Countries in the SC can impose sanctions, deploy peacekeeping forces or authorise the use of military force through directives or in the resolution itself.
This year, the council composed of 15 countries will debate the laws of biological warfare.
