JMUN FAQs

How do I know that my registration was successful?

You will receive a confirmation when your payment is complete. We will then get back to you in 1 or 2 days with a confirmation of your registration completion and your committee and country allocation. If you do not receive an email within three working days, please email us at bangalorejmun@oakridge.in .

What is the dress code?

The dress code is formal business attire. For males, we recommend a button down, a pair of trousers and a nice tie. Blazers or jackets are suggested, but not required. For females, we recommend appropriate blouses, or button downs. Trousers and skirts are both acceptable. Dresses are also suitable, as long as they are an appropriate length (knee-length). Shoes for males should be closed-toed business shoes, and for females, closed toed heels or flats are both acceptable.

What is the technology policy?

The Bangalore JMUN follows a strict no device policy. Delegates are not allowed to bring tablets or laptops. Mobile phones are also not allowed. Phones will be available in school in case of emergencies.Any delegate found using a device during the entirety of the conference will have their device confiscated and not returned until the end of the conference.

What is a position paper?

Position papers are required documents from each delegate summarizing his or her country’s views on each committee topic. Further requirements for position papers are laid out in each committee's background guide.

When is the position paper due?

All position papers are to be sent to the official email ID by the 17th of September. The email ID is bangalorejmun@oakridge.in and the subject should be ‘CommitteeAcronym_Country_PositionPaper’.

Will meals be provided?

There will be snacks, lunch, and water provided, and are included as part of the delegate fee. Delegates are welcome to bring their own lunch or snacks.

What is the International Press?

An IP, or International Press, is pressed with the requirements of formulating and conducting interviews on various delegates, discussing key topics with the delegates, interacting frequently with the delegates, presenting the common events taking place in the various committees, and most importantly, create a report of the a detailed account of the events that took place in each committee, based on the input provided by the IP personnel who send the IP heads a detailed account of the proceedings in their particular committee. A formal diction and appropriate register will be maintained while proceeding with writing the report or merging the various information procured from the different personnel handling the collection of information from each committee.

If you are an External Delegation:

Registration Fee: INR 2500/- delegation fee + INR 1400/- per delegate inclusive of delegate kit, meals, and pre-conference training. Please NOTE: The delegation fee (INR 2500/-) will be waived off for delegations with more than ten delegates

Step 1: Fill out the "School Registration Form" under the Registration tab

Step 2: Pay the Registration Fee using the Net-Banking details provided. Payment Details are provided under the Registration tab.

Step 3: Await authentication from School. Allocation details will be sent once authentication is complete

If you are an Oakridge Delegate:

Registration Fee: INR 1400/- per delegate inclusive of delegate kit, meals, and pre-conference training

Step 1: Fill out the "Oakridge Registration Form" under the Registration tab

Step 2: Pay the Registration Fee using the net banking details provided or by making a payment at the Accounts Department. Further details are provided under the Registration tab.

Step 3: Await authentication from the School. Allocation details will be sent once authentication is complete
